From Evesham to Stansted Airport is about 140 miles by road, the longest run on this site, and the one that most rewards a booked car: there is no sensible rail version of it from the Vale, and driving it yourself means the airport car park holds your car for the whole trip. Stansted works from a single terminal in Essex, north of London. You give us the flight date, time and number; we set the pick-up from your Evesham or village address with the cross-country margin the road deserves.
Journey facts: about 140 miles by road from Evesham to Stansted Airport (approximate, measured on the road network). Pre-booked only. Wheelchair-accessible vehicle available on request.
It crosses England rather than skirting it. The A46 and A45 take the journey past Coventry, a short stretch of the M6 hands it to the A14, and the A14 runs east across the Midlands and Cambridgeshire to the M11, which drops south to the airport junction by Bishop's Stortford. The last leg is the A120 into the terminal.
The A14 is a working road, full of lorries between the ports and the Midlands, and its mood decides the journey. A pick-up agreed in advance treats it with respect: the allowance is built for an ordinary lorry-heavy morning, and the flight time you give us is what the arithmetic works back from.
Because 140 miles is a long way to improvise at midnight. Book the homeward leg against your landing, flight number in the notes, and the driver is committed to the arrival rather than to a hopeful guess at it. Your phone number is the link if the flight moves, and the drop at the far end is your own door in Evesham or the villages.
The wheelchair-accessible vehicle can be booked for Stansted journeys, and groups travelling together can be collected from more than one address when the booking says so. Tell us about outsize luggage at booking: bikes, boards and instruments travel, but they travel better announced.
Stansted is the eastern option from the Vale; the western London airport is covered by the Gatwick run from Evesham, and the short hop north is the East Midlands run from Evesham. The wider service is described on our page for airport transfers across the county.
